Team Management

Teams in Archyl help you organize access to projects and collaborate effectively with your colleagues.

Creating a Team

  1. Navigate to your Organization settings
  2. Go to the "Teams" tab
  3. Click "Create Team"
  4. Enter a team name and description
  5. Click "Create"

Team Structure

Team Members

Each team can have members with different roles:

  • Admin: Full control over team and projects
  • Editor: Can create and modify architecture
  • Viewer: Read-only access

Inviting Team Members

By Email

  1. Go to your team settings
  2. Click "Invite Member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Select a role
  5. Click "Send Invitation"

By Link

  1. Go to team settings
  2. Click "Copy Invite Link"
  3. Share the link with your colleague
  4. They'll join with the default role

Managing Access

Project Access

Control which projects each team can access:

  1. Go to project settings
  2. Click "Team Access"
  3. Add or remove teams
  4. Set permission levels

Best Practices

Organize by Function

Create teams that reflect your organization:

  • Engineering teams by domain
  • Platform/Infrastructure teams
  • Product teams

Use Descriptive Names

Choose clear team names:

  • "Backend Engineering" vs "Team 1"
  • "Payment Platform" vs "Payments"

Regular Audits

Periodically review team membership:

  • Remove departed team members
  • Update roles as responsibilities change
  • Archive unused teams
